About Kenya

With the wildebeest migration: We make sure you have your safari booked and planned out very well in and around Maasai Mara national reserve and the best time to be in Kenya for a remarkable experience; it is the month of JULY – OCTOBER. This is the best time to see this incredible movement of animals. Although it is not guaranteed that the wildebeest get to Maasai Mara, it has yet to let us down. Also, December to February are great times as it is dryer and good for the Big Cats. SAFARIS: We customize the best safaris for you to suit your budget. ACCOMMODATION: We give you the best places to stay in and around the Maasai Mara and the conservancies surrounding it. The conservancies surrounding the Maasai Mara have restricted number of vehicles allowing a more private game viewing of wildlife.

Distance from Nairobi, It’s about 270 km from the capital Nairobi City and takes about 4-5 hours by road or 40-45 minutes by flight. We recommend a Number of Days Due the amount to be seen in the reserve we feel a THREE to FOUR day safari is suitable for just the Maasai Mara. If you are interested in photography the longer you stay the more chance of getting that ultimate photo.

About Masai Mara

Maasai Mara (Masai Mara) is situated in south-west Kenya and is one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves. Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible and most spectacular eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing eco-system. The Maasai Mara National Reserve stretches 1,510 sq km (580 sq miles) and raises 1,500-2,170 meters above sea level. Add the conservancies and the area is at least twice the size.  Itinerary

Day 1: MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

The Masai Mara National Park is one of the world’s greatest safari destinations, sharing unfenced borders with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, and encompassing endless rolling plains, breathtaking scenery, and an abundance of wildlife. The Mara offers unrivalled views of the world’s greatest migration – a wildlife spectacle of over 1.5 million wildebeest moving in a circular direction between Kenya and Tanzania in search of grasslands that have sprouted after the rain. Crossing the Mara River is part of their journey and is a sight to behold as distressed herds attempt to get across the crocodile-infested waters. Visitors also have the rare opportunity of interacting with the Maasai people, learning about their century-old traditions and bush survival skills. The Masai Mara is phenomenal all year round and offers exciting game drives, bush walks, hot air balloon safaris, and a selection of luxury and tented accommodations.

Pick up from your home @06:30am and leave leisurely and drive across the floor of the Great Rift Valley (You will have a brief stopover at the Great Rift Valley for the stunning views). Continue past the Maasai town of Narok to the legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve by lunch time at Lodge/Camp. For most safari participants, this is the jewel and highlight of the safari expedition. You will be enchanted by the diversity of animals that roam the Mara plains. The breathtaking topography of the region, comprising of endless expansive escarpments and plateaus will be interesting. The park is home to the largest populations of predators including the big cats. Witnessing them making a’ kill’ is phenomenal. Enjoy an afternoon game drive returning to your camp for dinner and overnight at Mara Lodge/Camp.

An individual can observe animals in their normal habitat. The animals are simple to see and it’s simply the most important theatre of the wild in Africa. You will realize the big five game animals with this kind of great ease, which might not be the case with other African safari nations.

Day 2: MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

Full days in the Mara with game drives, an early morning game drive and a late afternoon game drive – each of approx. 3 hrs.), all meals and overnight as above. (Optional on this day is a visit to a Masai Village (Manyatta) in between the two game drives, or an early morning hot air balloon flight accompanied by a bush breakfast at an extra cost). All meals and overnight at Mara Lodge/Camp.
